Hello freinds,
I lost my Canadian Citizenship Card about 2 months ago. I filled out cit0001 form, but one of the documents required is original commemorative Canadian citizenship certificate which came with the wallet size Canadian Citizenship Certificate (which is lost) and this must be surrendered. This so called pink transmission copy or the big certificate I no longer have, there-for I cannot surrender. So what happens next? They said if I am going to travel in the near future, they will issue a temporary passport and both applications should be done simultaneously. All is ready but I cannot find the pink transmission copy or the big certificate which came with the citizenship card.
Please, if anybody can help as to what could be done in my case, will be appreciated greatly.

Did you make any photo copies of the Citizenship Certificate.? If you did, then, carry the same to the nearest Police Station and report to them about the loss of the Card and The Certificate also.
Make a few copies of this Police Report. (The Loss) Carry this with you and apply for a New Card, which you have already done. The Police Report with the photo copy of the citizenship certificate will be sufficient for the surrender.
If you want to travel, take a temporary Passport which will bring you back. Whenever you receive the Replacement copy of all of these, you can apply for a Long Term (10 Year ) Passport.

First of all, thanks to you for replying FH. I did make a copy from the scanned jpeg file and went to the police and did get a report from them. Which I took to the Canadian embassy in Mumbai and applied for a replacement certificate, and temporary passport but the want confirmed ticket to Canada, which is not a problem I can do that, but in addition to that they want the Commemorative certificate which was given at the time of ceremony which I don't have. That must be surrendered when you apply for a replacement Canadian Citizenship Certificate. And I have lost that too. I had received that in 1985 nearly 29 years ago.
Thank you Full House for all your help. But my sister in Canada found the Commemorative certificate and she is mailing me here so I can surrender it and hopefully all my problems will now be over. Just the advise to rest of the people that this certificate is very important and guard it forever and ever also scan and save in jpeg format somewhere in DVD for future possible problems, in-fact scan all the important documents and save them.
