I have a one year IT contract job prospect at London, ON. Is it a good option to relocate from toronto to london?
How about IT sector in London?
School ratings for Kids?
Life in London?
Appreciate your feedback
If you have a job that pays high and you feel that one year is enough to make lots of money or that the contract can be extended, then make the move.
London is a place where jobs are hard to come by. EVen in IT employers may be less. So IT sector is not that great. Now with lots of job loss in Waterloo, London is driving distance for them.
Schools will be Ok and populated mostly with white and hence good for you. Crime rate will be lower than the GTA. Desi population is less.
Nothing much to do in London expect visiting parks or bars or shopping.
Your call.

I am a Gents and not a Ladies.
Thanks a lot for your Inputs Murali
If the rates are slightly higher than the current market here - one can make the move ... Most likely the contract may be extended as there would not be lot of IT supply there either unlike Toronto.
London should be cheaper than Toronto and have better schools as well as less crowded ... proximity to Mississauga / Toronto means you can drive once in a week or fortnight to here ...

Fido.
a lot of desi's come to GtA and get stuck there and not willing to explore beyong the 4 walls of GTA. Agreed there are more opportunities in GTA but there are equally more people aspiring for the jobs.
One year is a good term for a contract and move sooner so you can take advantage of low rent, low living expense, better quality of life etc.
Desi population used to be less a long time ago but now a days i think you should be fine with networking etc. the local temple and indo asian grocers are good places to connect with fellow desi's.
daily commuting to and from GTA is not an option so if you are in a position to move then make it.
