Hi,
I am thinking of buying a Subway / coffee / Pizza franchise in the Toronto area. I think i have some capital, but don't have much knowledge about the whole process of buying a franchise.
Could someone please provide some pointers?
Thanks.

On every street corner there are weekly publications, such as Jobs, Real estate, Rentals and Business Advertisement in a BOOK form, available to you. Pick one every two weeks and take down notes. You will get a good idea about any of these that are on sale and the location they are in. They are being sold, because they are NOT making money. You can approach one of them and get their financial statement if they are genuine.
There are a lot of books on FRANCHISES available in the libraries also. Take a few of them and take down some notes.
None of the big ones such as McD, TIMMIES, Second Cup, BP etc will be there and they are RARE to find. If you do grab one as fast as you can.
Then there are 'Roadies'. More on it if you are interested.
One thing for sure, you will never go hungry if you own one. Also you will need money to support you for a full year, besides the cost of the franchise.
