Bravo Crish,
I recently visited India and to my amazement it was a great experience. Crowding and Traffic were the two disturbing factors but with such a large population this is expected. If you avoid the high end stores and restaurants its highly affordable on a low budget. Its clean, traverse across the country by train at a low price and reliable service.
Overall it is an option worth considering. Direct Tax in Canada is almost 53% coupled with GST of 13% , savings are negligible with the standard of living being high, one has to shell out almost 50K PA just about to live in this country (Rent+ Insurance+ Food+ Car+ gas+maintenance+ TV + Phone + Cell+ eat out+ groceries+ clothes) depending on the province you live in. Lastly doctors are free but long wait times, medication and dispensing charges are huge.
Overall if one has the option open and available, India is definitely a great country to live in, it has available, everything from around the world and more.

Hi ! I made my mind moving back to India in March 2021 but after looking at current situation, I am having hiccups. Question: Do you have any regrets now considering the pandemic devastation ?
If you're fully vaccinated, wear a mask, wash your hands and maintain reasonable social distance and have a good diet and exercise, the pandemic in India won't affect you at all.
Even if you get Covid you will have very mild symptoms without any hospitalization etc. Just home quarantine and rest and some over the counter medication is enough.
Hi ! Thank you for getting back to me. I am asking about considering the pandemic, do you or anyone here regret their decision moving back to India permanently ? Pandemic has shown that irrespective of social status and money, everybody suffers. The health system is at the verge of collapse, too much blame game, I don't know it feels people have no empathy towards human lives now all they have been reduced to just numbers.. May be I am wrong. There's this continuous battle happening in me which can't decide where I belong ? Honestly, worst part is I can't talk to my loved one's about this. I can tell them my decision but cannot ask for their opinion cos pretty sure their opinion is Canada. Please advice. Thank you.
