I would recommend you do some research prior to moving here so you dont have an unrealistic expectation of your salary.

check out websites like http://www.workopolis.com" rel="nofollow">LINK, http://www.monster.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK etc to determine what is the labour market like for your field.

I would not recommend relying on ANYONE's opinion unless they work in your field and they know the salary RANGE.

Even as an experienced professional, you may find yourself at a starting/entry level salary..depending on the company.

disillusionment (I think I spelled it correctly?) usually occurs when you dont research the reality of your new home.

Also be prepared or have ur credentials assessed as soon as you can.

I work with a lot of new immigrant professionals from India. Most dont know about or take the time to research before they land..hence the shocks.

You had mentioned you would not go back even if you are offered a V.P. job in Reliance - India........which pays you 1 crore Rs.

I thought you are an MBA......and more sensible.........

Why dont you work in India for that salary for few years........come back to Canada with a couple of million dollars..........buy your own house for 250k and rest invest in multiplying funds which will give enough returns to live decent life........

You can forget $ 8/hr job............and stuff like that...........

I think a sensible person would do that.............
