Hi we have to move to Huntsville in July,04. Does anybody knows about any Indian family there?
Plese reply
Hello
I doubt if there are any Indian families up North in cottage country (Huntsville),but I am in Peterborough.Peterborough itself is a couple of hours from Huntsville,so thats fairly close as one can get. Besides,I've lived up north as well (Barrie, Collingwood) so I'm familiar with the life in these parts. If there are any questions or any help you want,I will be happy to help out to the best of my ability

Thanks Sateesh for your concern.
I am an aspiring teacher. How much opportunities do I have there?
What about weather? How much colder than Toronto?
Can you tell me about the nearest possible place where I could find Indians?
I believe teaching opportunities are fairly medium- however I wouldnt go unless I had a confirmed job offer. Are you going for an interview or are you going fully for resettlement? I am not sure if you know Northern Ontario well- Huntsville is primarily a tourism cottage country location- Most visitors come up there in the summer and fall-lots of canadians own houses there (You could have a similiar comparison like Ooty or Kodaikanal in South India). In the winter and in the spring there would hardly be any tourism activity. However if you have got a confirmedjob offer, then its a good place to raise a family away from the hustle and bustle of Stressful Toronto. Its a quiet, scenic location.Cost of living is generally cheaper than in Toronto. You do need to be careful of wildlife roaming about-Huntsville is bear country-you will see bear, moose, deer roaming about in numbers.
Nearest places where you could find Indians would be Ottawa (about 2 hours east),Peterborough (about 2 hours south east from Huntsville),Scraborough (2 hours )...
