I'm using Raza.com to call India but i had to dial access code then india number...

is there any service provider , who allows us to direct connect cell phone so we dont have to dial access code first then india number ?

i use whatsapp and skip for time to time but not everyone has access to those application in india.

i just need simple app or long distance company where i can use my address book to call them directly without using access code.

I use Vonage as my home phone and it lets me use my cell phone for making long-distance call under the same plan.

Search for discussions on Vonage extension in charcha.

One option would be save your contact numbers in India preceded by local access numbers separated by pause. You can insert one or two pauses, check and try which one works best for you. So your contact numbers could look like: 416-746-9797 ,,011919811000000

How to add pause: If you are using Android, go to Contacts, select your contact, click on the pencil icon to edit, under phone you can Add New, then type your Raza.com local access number and click on *# and then select Pause. You can add one or two pauses and then click on 123 to go back adding your contact's phone number in India including 01191 and their number.

Second option would be to use your phone provider's long distance. Of course it will much higher than what you pay Raza.com

I have not used long distance apps in a while, so cannot comment on those.

When I was in Canada, there used to be card that goes by the name " Calling card" wherein you have to buy and dial the number of the calling card and then it will ask for the pin number. Once you enter the pin number, then the pin number of that particular card and value will get stored till the end of the validity amount of the calling card.

This made calling bit more simpler and you need not carry the calling card all the time.

So you dial 416-7779999 and then it will ask you please dial the number. Then you can dial the india number as 00-91-8088099786 and you can speak to India.

This is one option that you can give a try and besides that calling card was pretty good.

I think that Reliance also used to work in a similar way but I forget.

I cant have Vonage since i am at motel and its has limitation for lines ( everything goes along with phone switch board ) - unless i take new line or i pay for dry loop - which i dont want to spend.

May be some Apps i can installed on cellphone and then used contacts from my contact list.

i see few of them but not sure how it works

G3 telecom might be another good option . with a registered phone no you dont have to dial access code . Voice quality is good and rates are very reasonable . When I used them years back I never found any discrepancy in billing
