I use the following providers.

Bell + 2 features -35 (including tax)
Acanac internet - 19 (including tax)
Fido prepaid - 12 (including tax)

Home phone: alternatives are Yak or TekSavvy. check out their websites. I doubt that you can go below $35 unless you go with a VOIP phone (which I dont recommend).
Internet: I prefer DSL and like Acanac for their service. Note that the price goes up to $32 after the 1st year which is still good compared to Bell ($50 for a similar speed)
Cell phone: prepaid works well for me. I don't use the phone much and I hate paying all kinds of fees on top of the actual monthly fees. Try Koodoo or the new Fido plans.

Hope that helps.

Do you mean 2 features, like Call Waiting + Caller ID?
If so, it should be less than $45.
It should be around $35 including taxes.
Call them and ask for a better deal.

I have a cell phone with Bell with the exact same features you have (unlimited offpeak in addition) but for $35.
My peak minutes are 150 though, while you have 200 mins for extra $10.
It's up to you whether you consider 50 extra peak mins worth $10 or not.
If you actually use 200 peak mins a month, then it's probably worth it (because per min. charge is usually 35c.)

Since you have Cable internet, one option is to dump your landline completely and start using your cell phone as your primary phone.
I imagine you can enhance your cell phone plan by "buying" another 100 peak mins or whatever for less than $20.
That will still save you $25 per month from your home phone.

yesterday one of my friend took me to a seminar and the company name is ACN - its some sort of VOIP company - Have u guys heard about that company

My friend reccomend me to join them, and if u want to become their representative u have to pay some sort of $499 and u start t to earn money to whom u sell their product and to whom u make them a member

I felt a bit confused as one fellow claimed he earned $45000 per month which is unbelievable and the speaker was trying to convince all of us to join - Franckly speaking i did not joined as i have still doubt on them if they want to make money on us or ............if this type of income is really true. Is their any catch pls share ur views in that business.

They might be cousins of AMWAY, QUIXTAR, ...
Stay away if it is not your cup of tea to 'sell' hard to sell products to your friends and family...

Just my 2 cents..

My gripes against VOIP

1) 911 is not a reliable service with VOIP. With vonage (dont know about others), you have to fill out a form with your address that helps the 911 operator to locate you. The system used with the landline does the location search automatically i.e. it can locate you based on where you are calling from.

2) You will not have Voip service if your internet is down or if the power goes out (though this is mitigated by some phone adapters that have backup batteries for a few hours).

Mind you, I like the technology and also use it for long distance (I use skype for calling within Canada and the US and absolutely love it). However, it is a poor replacement for a landline if you consider the above reasons.
