You must have used the service when they launched
Not that i work for Rogers, In fact i am switching to VOIP as well. But Rogers is definitely better and clear..

Plus the signal was not clear in the other room away from the cordless main unit ............. When complained the Rogers people incl their service technician gave me crap about fire wall blocking signal ....... Now with Bell I experience no such problems and the sound quality is much superior ............
I am happy I switched over to Bell after 8 months with Rogers and I can hear the difference .

My friend reccomend me to join them, and if u want to become their representative u have to pay some sort of $499 and u start t to earn money to whom u sell their product and to whom u make them a member
I felt a bit confused as one fellow claimed he earned $45000 per month which is unbelievable and the speaker was trying to convince all of us to join - Franckly speaking i did not joined as i have still doubt on them if they want to make money on us or ............if this type of income is really true. Is their any catch pls share ur views in that business.

My gripes against VOIP
1) 911 is not a reliable service with VOIP. With vonage (dont know about others), you have to fill out a form with your address that helps the 911 operator to locate you. The system used with the landline does the location search automatically i.e. it can locate you based on where you are calling from.
2) You will not have Voip service if your internet is down or if the power goes out (though this is mitigated by some phone adapters that have backup batteries for a few hours).
Mind you, I like the technology and also use it for long distance (I use skype for calling within Canada and the US and absolutely love it). However, it is a poor replacement for a landline if you consider the above reasons.
It may be cheap but I don't like it for the reasons I have mentioned in my post. I want a foolproof service in the event of an emergency. Furthermore, VOIP quality is at the mercy of the internet service provider. Also, it don't work when there are power outages (some routers have battery backup .. so they will work for a few hours)
If you don't have any of these concerns, VOIP is a good bet.
