I filed for parents sponsorship under a family class in 2010.
I have
Brother- 40 yrs
His wife-39 yrs
His daughter -13yrs
His Son 10yrs
living with my parents.
While filing for sponsorship, I might accidently listed all of these as a dependent of my parents. (Which I think - not sure because the on-line status page says we started processing you file......listing all names as dependent)
I received a medical request for my parents and their grand-son (10 yr) about a month back.
My questions are
1. How come cic considered grandosn (10yr) as dependent of my parents.
2. CIC website claims children upto age 19 are considered as dependent, than why not daughter (13 yr).
3. Can they all come together?
4. Is that OK for PR persons take a return ticket an board on flight or they want one way ticket when entering Canada permenently.
I have already sent an email to cic asking for clarification but hasnt got reply even after 30 days
Thanks in advance

Technically your brother's family is not dependent on your parents when he is major.
1. How come cic considered grandosn (10yr) as dependent of my parents. - I think it is just a mistake on their end.
2. CIC website claims children upto age 19 are considered as dependent, than why not daughter (13 yr). - Children of you parents upto the age of 19 are considered as dependent.
3. Can they all come together? - I don't think so (nice wish but not true).
4. Is that OK for PR persons take a return ticket an board on flight or they want one way ticket when entering Canada permenently. - The visa/immigration office at port of entry doesn't care whether the person have one way or return ticket. He/she just need to know the incoming flight number.
