A Delhite in Toronto
That is the power of Canadian immigration.
They ask for some hi fi documents which a decent guy canot obtain unless he knows contacts and pays bribe. When one gives a false document, they will blindly accept it.
I am writing this now as I donot mind my citizenship being striped.

drat I just realized that my birth certificate is partially in hindi and partially in english.
the CIC website says I need to get it translated through a certified translator but i could not find a list on the website.
is there such a listing of certified translators? has anyone done translations?
thanks all.
Just get a Hindi Pandit to do the translation and put his seal in it. The seal should say M.A (Hindi) or something like that.
Then get it attested by a gazetted officer and you are good to go.
An alternative to that (which I have done) is to make two fake seals and do it yourself. You will save a lot of money and a lot of time.

If the certificate is to be translated into English in the GTA, then after translation, it must be attested by the Indian counsulate in Toronto.

i also paid the right of permanent landing fee in advance.
can anyone tell me how long the next step takes, for CPC Mississauga to review everything and send the documents to New Delhi?
are we talking months or years?
