Some points that come to my mind ..
When negotiating , there are some web sites from where you can get the Invoice price of the dealers , hence would know the margin to negotiate ..
I recall there was a post from Cool Girl also which mentioned that generally month end days are better as the sales targets are under slight pressure .
Never reveal your trade in vehicle till the final moment ... then negotiate further ..
I have also heard that some dealerships swipe your card and charge you some money which you may lose if you do not close the deal ... not sure though.
All said and done unlike India I have found that House sellers ( realtors) and car sales people are very smart people who know how to leverage your emotions ... so it always makes sense never to make decisions @ the dealership w/o revising things once @ home first .
