Buying a TV in the US and bringing it to Canada?
I am on planning to purchase 65" smart TV. I was looking at pricing differences for TV's. The TV I'd like is going on very high price in Canada compare to purchase cross the border.
I never done any big purchase cross the border...what should I have to consider before buying cross the border.
Planning to choose and purchase from one of the three main brands...
LG VS SONY VS SAMSUNG
look at price difference on LG and SONY TV's below:

Will there be any border related issues? Consequences?
Any first hand experience or suggestion would be appreciated.
Thank you
I am sure you would have to pay the duty. Going through the following Duty calculator, a $1500 TV may cost you about $2300.
Having said that, you would only have to pay the duty if the TV is made in the country other than NAFTA (US, Canada, Mexico). If made in NAFTA, you would only end up paying GST/HST on Price (converted to Cdn. $). This of-course, on top of the sales tax that you would pay in US.

You'll probably only be paying HST. Having said that, with the current exchange rate you won't be saving much, after you factor in your trip expense. I suggest either check at Costco or wait for Black Friday deals. Last year there were excellent deals for the Canadian Thanksgiving.
Have you looked into the warranty details. Would it be possible to avail warranty in Canada or will you have to take the unit back to the US for warranty.

Considering the current conversation rate, don't think it's worth it for the song TV as its discounted by bb. Another option is to wait till black Friday or boxing day.
For 4k TV's, Vizio makes good panels at a fair price.
I was in the same dilemma not that long ago as I was in US for plenty of days that allowed me to bring roughly 800 $ of goods tax free.
Costco US was offering 48" Curve 4K TV for 600 USD whereas Bestbuy Canada had same TV for 1300 CAD.
I still ended up passing the deal due to possible warranty issues.
