Hi All,
I am looking for Software Quality Assurance jobs in GTA.
I have experience working in India for MNCs
What is the best possible way to get calls and job selection. I am flexible on salary part.
Any tips what Canadian employers look for?
any inputs/personal experience shall be highly appreciated.
Thanks!!
You can attend job search and resume workshops if resume is an issue. A number of organizations in GTA conduct such workshops including http://www.dixiebloor.ca/
If you are a new immigrant, getting first job does take time. Keep applying.
Software Testing (Manual) field is quite competitive in GTA unless you have some other marketable skills like test automation, security testing, performance testing, etc.

Go to the popular job sites (Workopolis, Monster, Indeed etc) and see what are the skills in general required for Software QA jobs. Compare them with the skills you have. Upgrade/acquire the missing skills and you will be ready to go.
Good luck.

Look for the huge hidden market. If i could tell exactly how i will be more than a super human,.
it will be a subtle art
> networking
> get technical testing learning such as WEB Services testing, Soap UI, Mobile testing
> Get some certification such as ISTQB
> do not give up
QA requires a lot of skill and patience. it is not for somebody who is idle and looking for any job

Hi Vijaya,
Like other members said..its bit difficult to get into QA market with out prior Canadian experience and networking.
My 2 cents on this topic is.
1>Go thru all the job postings (Indeed) and see what skills are hot and desirable
2>Try to refine your resume to have most of the keywords mentioned in the JD
3>Create a profile in Linkdin and start connecting to recruiters and QA leads/manager
4>Try to approach onsite account managers or team leads of the outsourcing companies such as TCS, Wipro, tech mahendra, cognizant etc., to get faster response.
5>Finally Personal connections are the fast and productive.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have uploaded my CV on various websites(indeed, workopolis etc) but no luck so far. I do have automation experience but looks like the market is really competitive.
Also looks like employers look for Canadian experience.
But I will keep on trying
