Hi All the fortunate senior desis,
This is a great platform helping the immigrants in all possible ways, this friendly and cordial platform is existing because of the \"desi- bond\" .
To give this site a new dimension , may I request the senior desis and other well to do desis to offer and support the new immigrants to obtain Canadian work experience, much sought after qualification in the job market , which is not there with the immigrants.
This help from the desis shall go a long way in truly lifting the spirit of the immigrants, and subsequently they can also contribute the same when they are capable to offer the same to new immigrants then.
Seniors there can draft or formulate guidelines of \"do' s and dont's \" for the immigrants.
I sincerely urge the \"senior desis to give it a thought and act on it if possible.

It didn't generate any response probably because you have highlighted the problem but didn't offer potential solutions which senior desis can pursue to be of assistance. Come up with some potential solutions and discussions will ensue.
IMO, most senior desis coming across job opportunities, usually post them on CD. What else can they do?
To appeal to senior desis with their own businesses, you have to think like a business person. They would not jeapordize their business or spend too much time and resources to help recent immigrants unless they see value to their businesses. Sorry to say, IMO, they are too busy already with their businesses to take additional responsibility. Appealing to their benevolence only can go so far.
You will have lot better chance to succeed by looking beyond just benevolence. Start by building a business case why a business should hire recent immigrant. What are recent immigrants bringing to the table for "Canadian experience"? What type of businesses can benefit from hiring recent immigrants and how?

Thanks for your reply, i fully agree to your point , on this issue, any business man has to think interests of his business first, and then & only then if the immigrant is fitting in to his org. can he think .
That is precisely the reason I have also requested the Sr Desis to formulate certain guidelines which obviously protects their business interests, it is this way why let the other suck new immigrant, this reference is used because I 've come across certain articles which suggests you work voluntarily without pay with some organisation to fulfil or to obtain canadian work experience, build credit,
When an immigrant has to work w\o pay , why not work with a desi owned company?
Immigrants are coming to try and explore canadian life style, not intending to depend and be burden on any one.
The fact that a forum like this is existing and doing such wonderful job for the immigrants is in itself reflects the benevolent intentions of desis to help their desi-brothers.
I once again thank you for your reply , with a request to please give it a thought on the issue with other Sr desis.

Why would Sr business desis spend time to formulate any guidelines? This is first challenge I experienced working with new immigrants. They expect that settled or successful people have an obligation to them.
Challenge with desi new immigrant working for desi-owned company (w/o pay or low pay) is that new desis expectations goes through the roof. Same immigrants co-op for other organizations for free without a squeak, but with desi companies, they want the world. "Ghar ki murgi daal barabar."
I would love to help few new immigrants specially in IT area through my business, but my past experiences tell me "not to waste my time and jeapordize everything I am working for."

Peacock, I dont like the tone of AnilKG's reply, but I must agree; He has stated the facts bluntly. For that I will support his views. YOu cannot expect anyone to help someone else for the sake of "Desi-Bonding". No such thing is present in this mean world called Canada. What you can get here is advice and information. "Reference", "Sifarish" while widely prevalent in India, is not so common here.
"Mere chacha ke dost ka ladka hai" Isey toh naukri milni hi chahiye.. I dont think Desi's, who have established businesses here would like to take a risk with any new immigrants. However, if you (as a new immigrant) are able to approach such a desi business for a job/co-op then you can *hope* to find a job, like any other company.
I like to acquire contacts and more information. After that I wish to pursue the case on my own. It makes me feel comfortable as well as helps me understand my limitations and advantages should I choose to work in that company.
Why dont you post your CV in all online job sites (e.g., Monster, Careebuilder etc., ). Next, when you actually land in Canada, pick up the telephone directory (again using Anil's blunt, no-nonsense tone) and message every company in the directory for a sales job (if thats your Forte). BUt you can do that, only if and when you land here.

Thanks for your reply, the thread u 've replied was not meant for any posts, it was posted by mistake, while I was trying to use the "quote" feature of the forum, I had although posted it a few days back but it did not generate proper response, may be I may have erred in expressing my views properly, it is very similar to the thread which is on under the job section, and replied by Garvo Guj, and Chandresh.
What I am trying to convey was similar to that.
I am sure no immigrant is migrating hoping to receive favours from totally unknown individuals,
it is only after surfing through such (cordial and willing to help) forums, exchanging views and opinions one dares to express his views
