Dear Seniors and friends,
I am still to get where you all are, yet i have visited this site everyday without fail ever since i came across it a few weeks ago - and each itime i have learnt a small tidbit more.
Sir whatever publicity, "punya" or mileage (if any) these gentlemen (Garvo Gujarati or Massoodji) are getting - or after a hard day at work some absolute stranger takes time off to pen a few words to give us some confidence, lull our fears and tell us where to tread carefully after having faltered themselves - i think it is only fair to accord them the respect of atleast addressing them correctly and in a manner which does not sound like " hey tell me this i need it for this". If a doctor who practices in a high speciality clinic charging say $ 500 for a visit from fat rich clients, saves a person on the street - say after an accident for free - doesnt disqualify him for being credited for that good deed of saving someone just because he charges other patients !
Politeness doesnt cost anything. If the gentleman wants to open a business and wants advice (for free too) atleast let him be polite( which doesnt cost either). How would he feel if CD were to suggest him to hire a conultant some money and get the details- in which case i am sure when he wont get the name of the consultant wrong !
I suggest Mr Sundar Rajan that you may bear this in mind for the future - and thats just a friend's / brother's advice - no offense at all - please forgive me if offended you - CD will help you with many things - which you will realise if you just go through the various postings and advices by members of this site. Its a great site keep on with us.
Enough of advice ( i can see the light shining from behind my head !!)
Bye all
Regards
Soberflier
PS Maybe youcan let it slide this one time GG
I wonder what publicity is Garvo getting out of this website .
I respect GG / BL / ON / J3D & all others who put their time n effort in sharing their knowledge in a world where nothing comes for free . Senior members like Chandresh & Biomed are seen less these days .Maybe due 2 the fact that what they have sown has multiplied and there are others as well to clarify doubts .
I do not deny wisernow completely but then everything is "give & take" . No? I visit this site as I gain info from others as much as I love sharing mine .
Dear Abhisangi --- Every1 got the hint --I wonder how u didnt ? Anyways and wecome aboard -- v wud b delighed in sharing whatever info v have .
Regards,
Manasvi .
Hello,
Well, I personally do not agree with the viewpont of 'wisernow' and 'bighead'.
I think any person having an iota of self respect wont prefer his name being addressed or spelt wrongly.
Atleast that is my stand on this issue.
I also wont like to argue much with "wisernow" on what benefits/mileage might have been received by Mr Massood thru this forum. ACTIONS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
Massoodji, please dont get bugged by this ongoing discussion. Keep up the good show.
And all those who believe GG is doing all this for publicity are totally mistaken.
GG is a sober, helpful and down to earth personality - a type rarely found in Canada.
Anybody who has met Garvo Bhai in person can vouch for this. He is a wonderful human being.
I would like to request all CD members to respect each others sensitivity and take extra precaution while addressing each other.
In this way we can give and receive respect from our fellow CD members.

I have NOT said that GG is doing anything for publicity. Neither he nor anyone else else on this board is doing anything solely for publicity. Please read a post properly before reacting. Such unwarranted reactions are actually more insulting than anything else. Also as far as Mr Massood is concerned, please read my post again. I have agreed that he is helping people by anwering questions and that he is doing a fine job. My only point is that there is no need to go overboard with it. Like him there are others too who are helping. All l was trying to say was that if someone misspells a username, why do people consider it disrespectful? The error in spelling has not been done intentionally. It could just be a typo! For God's sake why should that be considered a mark of disrespect especially when there are no malafide intentions. Sorry that it may sound offending, but I think it is a result of super inflated egos that something so minor is taken as a personal affront. Is it so difficult to imagine that most of the people here are not experts at keyboarding which makes typographical errors highly likely. And it is not as if they are going to be marked for their exams that they are expected to read and re-read their posts just to make sure that they have not misspelt words. What's the big deal dammit if your username has been spelled wrong. Rather than creating grudges, nursing wounded egos, blowing it out of proportion, and piling on the poor guy, go ahead and reply/respond to the post if you can and get on with life man.
I don't think there is any message board where, depending on the agreed theme, posters do not try and answer questions of other posters. In fact, ANY message board has this feature. That is the very purpose of message boards - to share ideas and information. In that respect there is nothing at all unique with THIS message board. Everyone is here voluntarily! I am a member on other messageboards, and I have been offered expert advice and help on a number of issues, from answers and solutions on computer viruses by computer nerds, to advice on problems with my car by auto meachanics, to legal advice by lawyers, to medical advice by doctors. All posters were experts in their respective fields and a lot of their advice and help has saved me lots of money on several occasions. Nowhere have I seen people taking offence to such minor infarctions as misspelt usernames. It is ridiculous!!

hogwash...
first off... half the people here dont use their real names, they use aliases...
second... as wisernow said... this is a message board... its for people to share ideas...
third, if its done intentionally to insult someone then ofcourse its valid to get offended, but someone does something without the intent, its a simple mistake... in today's world, specially considering where you live or where you intend to migrate to (canada) you better get used to people calling you various versions of your name, dont expect them to get it right... again its not an insult... its an honest mistake...
and fourth... if you get your knickers in a twist on a message board on the internet because someone misspelt your board handle or alias or name, then its very unfortunate...
as far as respect goes... respect must come from the heart... you cant sit on someone's chest and hit them on the head with a stick and demand it... those people who insist on being respected are the least respected of all...
