Smiley you are wrong. what you say is true only for USA. in Canada it was not a problem at all. Infact a letter from the doctor was very helpful in getting the visa for your parents.

I know scores of people who have got visa by stating that they are going to meet their son or daughter for post partum care.

I t is just recently that Canadadian embassy has started rejecting visa.

In USA they mention while rejecting that you cannot go for Post partum care.

But Canadian embassy have rejected it by giving a silly reason that we are not sure if you will come back.:kaioken:

Well I think if our folks are above the age of 60 years, they automatically fall in the senior citizens category. They have to just drop off their visas and collect them back. I think if they can show some kind of employment or business documentation, they will not have any difficulties achieving the visitors visa. Also I think fighting in the court paying Canadian 300 Dollars would be worth it as Jai said earlier. We are the damn Canadians now, and I think we should not give up to our rights.

I will suggest another thing, that we can be heard of. Wherever u are write to local MPs (If they are Liberal and India Origin such as Bains etc, nothing like it). Ask them to intefere with Judy Sgro for
1) Allowing our parents to visits us, tell them why and how CHC rejects visitor visa arbitrarly.
2) Reduce the time line for the parents immigration.

I believe few letters to each MP will definately make difference. Because nature of complaints are same.

It is not necessary that you have applied or rejected for visitor visa or parent immigrant visa. Any one of you will be in this category soon.

Yesterday there was news time in Times of India, that Canada is apeing America for immigrant policy.

Liberals are under lot of pressure because of minority.

Hi everyone,

I've been watching this thread from last few days and I'd like to add my experience.

Well first of all I came to Canada in 2002 as a student in post-grad course and I completed that in 2003 and I invited my parents on graduation ceremony. I just sent one simple letter explaining why I want to invite and my transcripts from college. My parents applied for Visitor visa they gave visa to my parents without interview for 6 months. They visited here for 2 months and then went back and now I'm on post-grad work permit and this yr on June 30th I again sent a simple letter with my some pay stubs and they were able to get visa without any problem.

I think key factor was that my Dad has been working in Bank from last 20 yrs.

As two of my friends invited their parents this yr on their graduation ceremonies and they got rejected because their parents were not working at all.

So, I don’t think it matter that how much you are making and what you wrote in your sponsorship letter as long as you can prove to CHC that you would return back to India after you visa expires.

Cheers

Sukhwinder

Dear All,

After going through the entire conversations posted here, i hereby put forth my views.

1. Myself landed here in Canada (Toronto) in 1998 got job in IT and since then employed succesfully
2. Invited my parents in year 2003 and their visitor visa was issued in 30 minutes , i have asked them to go to the delhi office in person to make a better case.
3. Invited inlaws for helping my wife during delivery and after, they also went to delhi, but a typical harassment (white vs non white) was shown.
They were asked to produce a new document never heard every visit they made to the embassy . Meanwhile i faxed to them all the docs again second set inspite of having a set with my inlaws.
4. After about 15 days of going and coming back finally they got the visitor visa for 8 months.

The real motto of my message to community is as below

1. Firstly the so called self declared first world nations, do not have anything of their own to call for.

a . They have a culture which no one can call where from it came.
b. A culture which has no values
c. Parents over here are worst than dogs, atleast dog travels with the masters, but parents are left to old age homes etc etc

Considering above scenario how can we expect these jokers to understand the importance of motherhood , parents and relationships.

To fight this unhuman behaviour , we need to bring all the organizations under one spirit and go and talk to the MP/who ever can make a decision to give some sort of previlege to the parents coming here to help in delivery or take care of babies etc etc.

Also we need to emphasize that in our culture the first kid is always born at the girls parent's house which is the foremost tradition binding the love in India.

Personally I can get atleast 3 - 4 organizations (associations) support in terms of letters from their heads pledging their support on this cause.

What we can achieve is to relax the parents visa process especially if they are coming to help us for delivery etc etc.

Please pass on your comments.
Jinkatu

I am shocked to read your comments . You do not look like somebody who has been here for so much time and have been polished to the level of accepting international cultures. You seem to be one of those whining people who live in a foreign country and still curse it day and night. If you hate these cultures so much , why don't you move back to good old India. If India has the best culture and values what are you doing here. If it was the best culture and having the best values , then it would be the best country also in the world and people would be struggling to go there and not asking in forums that " how much time it takes to get canadian immigration ".

Don't judge other countries and culture by the Indian point of view. If people are refused visas for visiting , it has nothing to do with cultures. It is a valid immigration procedure and policy on which things are decided. Just because you came here and settled here and got an "IT" job , Canada does not have to give visas to all your "Khandaan" to come and visit you . If you miss it so much , go back and visit them.

and mind you , I am not bashing India here but I am speaking against bashing the culture of the coutries in which we live. We earn here and live here and how can we curse these countries and when they gave you a an Immigrant visa they did not promise your "khandaan" visitor visas.
