Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there are good opportunities for Software Professional in Dubai.

I am a Canadian citizen, an Oracle Database Administrator & Developer having over 8 yrs experience in India, Canada, US.

My husband also a canadian citizen wants to go back to Dubai. I would appreciate if someone can give me some insight into this.

thanks

I spent 12 years (1992 to 2004) in Ajman, frequentting Shj and Dubai. A few of my friends were apprehensive and were assuring me abt my return in 3 months but I am on my way to getting a citizenship here. What one needs here is a good job break which does not come without luck. Secondly, I suggest everyone going for the free orientation course for new immigrants. The resume works wonders if modelled as taught. Lots of manners are taught here like speaking after the other has completed, not raise the voice etc. As always, hard work and sincerity never fails. Last but not the least, this country has about 25-30% taxation but then they offer free education for kids upto 12 grade! Now the same friends of mine are filing in their papers for migration mainly due to loss of saving potential there due to rising costs of living, falling standards of living (some forced into bachelorhood)etc. Every place has its pluses and minuses. It all depends on what one expects out of life!!

Good Luck

Balaji

Note: Canada is the only country where u hear welcome to canada rather than "how long will u be staying here"!!!

Good luck to everyone

We lived in Sharjah from 2000 till Nov. 2006. Recently migrated to Canada.
Sharjah used to be a good place untill 2003, then the rents started making big big dents in pocket. Sharjah became overcrowded since Dubai rents are still higher. Moving around in Sharjah specially during weekends became a nightmare.
We miss Sharjah prior to 2003.. oh, and Kamat on King Faisal.....
