Hi Parag,
Thanks for the info, it has been helpful in providing me a rough idea of the required time frame. We have applied in May 2006, so I guess will have to look at a time frame of approx 24 months...
Well from which office were your papers processed as for my papers are being process from the UK office. I also heard lately that they are gonna begin to process the papers from the Abu Dhabi Office... do you have any idea about that bit...
I also understand from your post that you would be moving to Canada in September... are you planning to go solo or with your full family... coz I have heard that its a bit difficult in the initial phase if one moved ahead with the complete family...
And yes congrats on receiving the visa... and all the very best with your plans and am sure things will work out super fast for you :-)
Cheers!!

Hi Bells..
The whole procedure generally takes around 2 years..
Here is how we got it..
Applied in May-2004 i.e Received File Number.( From this date the actual counting starts..)
Received Interview waiver in Jan-2006
Along with medical papers
Submitted Medicals in February - 2006.
Received Visas in April - 2006.
If you are called for interview count 2-3 months more.
Hope this helps...
Sorry bells
I apologise that I could not reply to you.It took me the same time as Parag. Even I got a Interview waived off.I think nowadays it is a bit strict with the time frame increasing. One of my other friend's has also put their papers and just got their file #. So they have told a time frame of 3yrs. I dont know.

Hi to all...
Hi Bells..
When you receive your file no, it is mentioned on that how much time it will
take approximately. Fortuantely for us, we received our medicals after 18 months which was a specified time period for us.
If you present your case carefully then there are chances that you will get thr' the procedure without hassels..
It's a long way for you to go..so don't think about it too much
Save as much as possible here in Dubai..
We are just completing our landing and based on the situation there going to take decision.
Thanks
Thanks guys for all the info, it for sure gave me an insight on the process and I guess I have to just hang on till the documents get processed... All the best to you all and do keep in touch
Cheers!!

We have applied for PR in in Nov 2004 and got File No. in 2004 Dec , we had waiting time for 18 months soo which makes till july/august 2006 but in July we received a letter from immigration that waiting period has incread till August 2007 . They have assured that the Verdict will be there by August 2007.
Our Application has been filed from UK . And after we had applied the office in ABUDHABI started proccessing as well .
I am wondering if we can transfer our file from UK to UAE , will that catalyse the process?
Wanna move to Canada as Dubai is getting really tough and expensive ....
Hope to get it thru soon .....
