These are all the makings of a good teacher! I am sure you like to simplify , convince ,update yourself and others , analyse and also verbally communicate. The only thing that remains is that you reinvent yourself or give a new direction to your skills and knowledge.
You see the possibility of becomming a Teacher / Professor at a University of Financial Management or Accounts . The vast experience that you have can be best utilised in education field. A lecturer at a university level does not need certification but i do not know if you require a doctorate.( is it possible in finance?)
Iam giving you the above suggestion because i have done a similar thing here in India ( which is much more conservative about employing candidates above the age of 35 as compared to canada)
Of course I would have loved to work in my own field of Product Management but circumstances( paucity of pharma companies in my region) made me seek alternative ideas of employment. I now realised that I make an excellent teacher too thus discovering my hidden skills and extending the scope of my job prospects .

Thanks jwagh - I am really enjoying my new house - though breaking my back at the same time doing all the work (yesterday we dug up 12 feet of earth to make a flower bed and found that digging with a shovel was much easier than disposing off the sand with gravel - to allow putting new soil - it was tons and tons of sand!)
Yes, I have myself thought of taking up teaching , and people who I have taught say that I am an excellent teacher - their grades have improved significantly and they love my way of combining course material with practical example and fun. Infact, since I was myself a dumb student, I needed someone to explain things to me in detail, without assuming that I might already be knowledgeable of the basics, and that is the principal I apply while teaching.
However, when it comes to teaching as a profession - the only thing that prevents me is going in for yet another degree to be able to get a teaching qualifications. May be I do not need any certification for teaching adults - I think I should explore the possiblities. Thanks for reinforcing a thought I myself had.

Anyways all the trouble of digging would have made you shed a few kgs making you look smarter( i teach nutrition and dietetics) and which student does not like a smart professor? so cheer up!!!!!
I am glad that you are keen on teaching bec you would make an excellent teacher( dumb students like me too make a good teacher bec we know how exactly to make the students yawn less) I told you you have the makings of a good teacher!
