VJ,
First off let me congratulate you on having taken the decision to immigrate because taking a decision itself is worthy of that.
As I understand, you have developed a specific plan that you intend to follow once you land here. Some of the details can be made out from your posts. For example you are certain that you will under no condition go into minimum wage jobs, that you intend to stress a lot on networking , that you will remain hopeful and positive etc. Would you mind sharing the other details of your plan? It is just so that, others contemplating a similar move might benefit from your input.
Thanks.

Hi DiogenestheCynic,

Thanks for your comment and wish.

Yes, you have made out correctly. Thanks to this wonderfull site (Sach kaheta hun, I would never be able to forget this website till I die) and my last 3 years of attachment to finance industry, I am slowly but strongly preparing a comprehensive plan of SETTLEMENT. But the plan is not for earning, working, saving bla bla bla... Its all about reaching there and work on the basics, which I have learnt about.

To simplify, in my openion (BL, please allow me..), "I AM GONNA TAKE THE CANADA-SETTLEMENT PROCESS like playing a TEST-MATCH". "ITS NOT GOING TO BE A ONE DAY GAME AT ALL", and that too not the test matches, which are being played in recent days. I am talking about the test matches got played in old days, where lot of technicalities were involved such as, WEATHER, CONDITION, PITCH CONDITION, WIND DIRECTION, FIRST HOUR OF THE INNING, KEEPING THE WICKETS INTACT TO PILE UP HUGE SCORES IN LATER PART OF THE INNING, SLOW BUT STEADY BATTING etc...

The great Sunny Gavaskar used to speak one sentence, "GIVE THE FIRST HOUR TO THE BOWLER, HE WILL GIVE YOU THE REST OF THE DAY".

I have sort of written in a non-specific/ examplory way about the PLAN, but as you know I am in INDIA and would surely love to write in length about the actions taken, rather then theories written.

If I have to tell you in one line, "I WOULD NOT GO FOR A PERMANENT JOB IN THE FIRST YEAR". I WOULD STUDY AND EQUIPE MYSELF WITH VARIOUS CERTIFICATIONS and THEN LAUNCH MYSELF, WEATHER IN JOB OR EVEN IN A SELF EMPLOYMENT ROUTE (thats, what I have been dreaming in my life, working for myself).

Let me add one other great example of my thinking and mindset ...MISHTAR INDIA's post of success story...."HE ENTERED ON THE CHILLEST DAY (-31 degress right?) and all days after that, gave him more warm feeling".

And you all my friends, take my word/oath.."I AM COMING TO CANADA FOR SUCCESS AND I WILL ACHIEVE IT".

Regards,

VJ...

All the best! Focus on your goals and let the Universe fill in the details.
A wise man was once asked about his grand plans.
"where is all the money going to come from?"
His answer
"From wherever it is at the moment"

Although I am not a gujrati---but I have stayed and worked in BHUJ,GANDHIDHAM,WADSAR,AHMEDABAD,JAMNAGAR and few other places in gujrat.

It needs great courage to put forward all personal info in an open forum.

I appreciate.

In case you are stuck for anything in Canada, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

All the best

Thanks a lot Kamal,

After the declaration of the TAX HOLIDAY, Kutch is becoming a happening place. But full of dust pollution and traffic.

Keep in touch,

That's what I wanted to know. For the benefit of everyone, could you please repeat them point wise. Basic no1, Basic no 2,... and so on.

As you have yourself admitted, almost all of the above is "non-specific". My query to you is with regards to what actions you have planned, specifically those that have been an outcome of your association with this board, things that had never occurred to you for example, but you have now decided upon only because you happened to become an active participant on CD.com That will in some way give a measure of the actual success achieved against the stated intentions of this forum.

Not even if you are offered one? Are u sure?:D Or do you actually mean to say that you will not take up minimum wage or labour type jobs?

Excellent ambitions! But do you have any idea of the costs of education here? Do you plan to invest your own capital into this? Not that you shouldn't. Just asking. Do you know exactly what certification(s) you will pursue and where? Do you have clear ideas and conceptions about the "self employment route" option in your line of work?

And what happens if YOU happen to land on a day when the temperatures are mild and it is -31 later?:D

I believe you. Just wanting to know how much of that is rhetoric and how much actual planning as you said earlier.
Would be interesting if you could give some concrete details of your action plans.
All the best for your success though! If and when you achieve it , yours will indeed be a case that CD could be credited for!

As an aside, this is directly addressed to Crenshaw.
Crenshaw -

Don't you think you should be giving some "advice" to this gentleman here??

Hi DiogenestheCynic,

Yes, you are right, CRENSHAW must give advice to me. Its free you know???!!!!

Friend, please don't take it otherwise, but more then hearing PLANS and strategies from active CD members like me, it seems your BOTTOMLINE is something different. It looks like that you are desparate now to reach at the JUDGEMENT that, whether this site brings SUCCESS or FAILURES?, Whether this site is bringing HAPPINESS to members/people or its RUINING their lives?

Am I right friends?

Regards,

VJ
