I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
After being a cdn citizen you have 2 choices
1) H1- B visa which is the same process as any other and if you file for GC , you will be in queue with India as GC goes by country of birth and not citizenship
2) TN-1 , every year renewable , cannot file GC , but easier to get still gives the same insecurity as you have to leavethe country or change of status once you leave your job
