Hi Expert,
My passport expired 4 months ago.
Today I gave my citizenship test and passed.
The oath will be done some where at the end of April or begining of May 2010.
Now if I go for fresh passport then it will take more than a month and then I have to submit my Indian passport for cancelation at the time of oath.
My question:
Is it worth to spend my money to get my passport renewed for a month?
Do the CAnadian authority need a active passport to cancel?
I have no plan to leave Canada before my oath.
Please help- what should I do

You can apply for Canadian passport on the same day as your oath - you will receive the citizenship certificate and card at the time of your oath.
You may fill out the passport form in advance and have everything ready and apply on the same day if you wish.
