Happy news, Canada has no restricted profession on the above link. So, every profession on the NOC list is in demand in Canada. Exact words as per the above link, "There are no restricted occupations at this time" => no profession is over crowded in Canada. Good to read that!!!

Great News....

"To protect the Canadian labour market, Citizenship and Immigration Canada has to make sure that Canada does not have too many people with the same skills.

If your occupation is listed below, you cannot use this work experience:

* to meet the minimum work experience requirement; or
* to earn points under Factor 3: Experience.

There are no restricted occupations at this time."

Point system immigration does not represent job market. So restricted or not restricted, what difference does it make?

You are missing the point. Above link is for the professions where Job market experience over crowding will be restricted and professional from those field are not invited for immigration rest are invited to join the party.

Restricted occupation is part of point system immigration.

Does point system represent the skills that Canada needs? Does it represent the job market?

You are asking me or telling me!!! If you are asking me, my answer is that they are representing the job market and immigration is based to fulfil the work force requirement. So, in nut shell they are to speed up process for those professional which are in shortfall list. If you are telling me then my question to you is, what is your reply to the above point?

There are some occupations that are on NOC list that if you search in jobfutures.ca will say that the scope is limited. Jobfutures categorizes the scope as good, fair, or limited.

So how come it represents the job market or skill in demand?

http://www.jobfutures.ca/noc/124p3.shtml

Jobfutures says this occupation has "limited" work prospects.

It is in NOC list "Court recorders and medical transcriptionists"
