I still don't get it - why are people do disparate to come here.
As I said Canada is the only country where Educated / Skilled people do odd-jobs.
Driving taxis, working in restaurants , working in factories etc.
On top of it pay so much taxes.
There is so much being written everywhere and now the Canadian Govt itself is dramatically slowing down inviting Skilled Professional immigrants but still people want to come here and get sucked into the system.
Hope people wake up and stop this madness.

Well. We canot and should not stop anyone from immigrating. But what we can do is offer them a true situation of this country.
If you are in IT or Finance or labour or service or marketing, there is every chance that you can succeed.
On the other hand, if you are already well settled in the Gulf or India and you are an Engineer, Architect , Civil engineer, Professor, Doctor, vet. Doctor, Management/Manager (with just a BSc from India), supervisor, Travel agent etc.., then it is probably in your best interests not to come.
Personally I need more people to immigrate to this country so that they can suffer and curse life. But hey, that is only me.
I like to see the following :
1. More chefs immigrating to Canada and bring down the price of non veg buffet to $ 4.99 +HST
2. More drivers immigrating and selling 4 L Homo milk for $ 2.49+ HST (They will ubt from USA where it is $ 1.68 in Walmart). Same with Gas. If some one wants to serve Canada, they can buy from Kitchener where it is 92 cents a litre and sell in Toronto for 94 cents a litre.
3. More uneducated people immigrating (spouses of educated people) and bring down the cost of daycare from $ 3 an hour (home based) to 50 cents an hour
4. More Indian people opening desi stores and selling goods for 50% less and bankrupting themselves.
5. More realtors coming to Canada ad though officially their service charge is 5 %, they will refund 5% - $500 for every sale of the house
6. More people immigrating and make Mississauga like Mumbai (5 families staying in one 2 bed apt and thus brining down the cost to $ 300 / month)
7. More doctors immigrating and thus unofficially treat patients (out patient) for $ 2 a vsist (our own money). Since Canada will never allow them to practice with their red tape and lobby groups. Same with Dentists
Etc..
Etc..
Viva la Canada. This is the greatest country on earth.

US may be the only country in the west where desis are sometimes preferred over locals
. So the unemployment is prevalent among skilled/educated locals. That itself says something about where we should be heading......

TK has been harping about this for the last 7 years on this website and every tom - dick and harry called him all names, derided him about his message.

But the message is true NOW.
All the Canada Zindabad guys are all not to be seen on this esteemed website.
The rest who were so Gung-Ho on Canada seem to change their views. Many of them are towing TK's line in this very thread.

Good move by Harper government. I feel, it may not immediately impact the job opportunities for us. We may have to wait for a couple of years to kick in the results for wider choices.
