I came across this site on a newsgroup and it appears to be useful.

You can access the demographic profiles of any neighborhood (2km radius)/ community (5km radius)/ City (20km radius) or metro area (50km radius). You can check for demographics including:

Custom Demographics: Single Young Women/ Detached House/ Residence Value/ Far Commute to Work/ Unemployment Rate/ Transients/ Univ Degree
Age: Preschool/ Children/ Adult 25-49/ Adult 50-64/ Senior
Income: Family Income/ Total Economic Activity/ Avg per person
Citizenship: Canadian/ Other
Mother Tongue: English/ French/ Italian/ German/ Chinese
Religion: Roman Catholic/ No Religion/ Other/ Anglican/ Muslim/ Jewish/ Buddhist/ Hindu/ Sikh/ Pagan

This was an excellent link.. I am not sure on what basis they are showing the information..
