Tech experts:
I bought a Sony Home Theatre and LCD TV.
I connected my digital box (Cable) to LCD TV.
But I want that sound should comeout of the home theatre speakers. Guy at FS suggested that I should buy a S Video cable from Digital box to TV and Audio cable (red and white, I suppose) from Digital Box to Home theatre.
I am wondering before I buy S Video cable, is it correct?
Also, I saw S video from Philips with gold plated (blah blah) - Is it a good cable for this purpose or anyother suggestion please
thanks

I am not sure which Digital box you are having - is it the HD or the regular?
If its regular digital box, then what he suggested is right, though for better picture I would recommend using component video for picture. Also, if both your digital box AND your receiver have a digital coax for audio, I would suggest to use that connection instead of the regular red/white.
Finally, gold tips do make a difference in the long run especially if you have moisture in your room. But the difference will be known only to those who have an 'ear' to detect it.
If the Digital box is HD, I would suggest you use the HD cable from box to TV. The audio connection could be the same as above.
Remember, HT experience is much more than just cables and connections - however the comments are limited to these items only.
Enjoy!

I have a regular digital box. I am not a tech expert. What is component video? Is it a cable with Yellow, White and Red. But I am using that currently. Also, receiver does not have a digital coax (I believe you are referring to digital audio output).

For the best HD quality video ouput(1080P or 1080i) you have to use HDMI 1.3.You need HD receiver/cable box with HDMI output on it.Regular cable box maximum could have component video output.Component video output is better than S video.
For digital quaility audio(it's much much better than regular audio) you need digital audio cable
