We can do it. However we don't have any system in place to get donations.

There are few organizations those are wel-known for such things.

One is Sanatan Mandir and another one is Swaminarayan. As usual Red-Cross is always there. However both the mandirs are working on zero operating cost, with a large pool of volunteers. It means $100 you donated will be given as $100 to those affected.

If you want to contribute to PM Relief Fund, you can refer to this link. You can donate by cheque, draft, or credit card.

We can collect donations CDs who wants to donate, and we can send that to any of such organizations, However we are not a charity organization and so our donars will not get tax benefits.

May be in future we can think in this direction as we are a very large organization now and having so many members and readers, we can definately collect large amount of money.

I hope everybody will donate directly.

Here is the message from Shree Pramukhswami Maharaj:

Quote:

27 December 2004
Sankari, (Sub-district: Bardoli, District: Surat)

The recent earthquake and subsequent tidal waves have caused much loss of life and destruction of property. This is a natural disaster of international proportions and it is the duty of us all to help in whatever way we can.

BAPS has already distributed thousands of food packets to the afflicted. Also, near Chennai in South India, BAPS has set up a kitchen to serve hot food to the survivors. But the extent of this natural calamity is such that only a collective effort by governments, NGOs and others will assuage the suffering and shock of the survivor. At present, it is essential that emergency relief materials be distributed to the afflicted.

It is our appeal to people all over the world to help in this time of crisis and need. In this situation it is our duty to provide humanitarian aid, regardless of community, caste, colour, creed or country and other differences.

Only with collective international support can we overcome this devastating catastrophe and hence we appeal to all individuals, groups and nations to come forward and help in every way they can, as soon as possible.

We pray to Bhagwan Swaminarayan that all those afflicted by this disaster are blessed with the inner strength to overcome these difficult times, and that the souls of the deceased are blessed with peace and their relatives are blessed with the strength to cope with the loss of their loved ones.

- Pramukh Swami Maharaj (Shastri Narayanswarupdasji)

Dear Friends,

The latest news about tsunami is as follows:

>>>>The death toll from last weekend's earthquake-tsunami catastrophe
rose to more than 114,000 on Thursday as Indonesia uncovered more and
more dead from ravaged Sumatra island, where pilots dropped food to
remote villages still unreachable by rescue workers. A false alarm
that new killer waves were about to hit sparked panic in India, Sri
Lanka and Thailand.<<<<<<< AP news.

In India the death toll may exceed 20000+. Lots of families uprooted,
children lost their parents and other beloved ones.

It is an appeal to all to help to their capacity t the victims of
such an enormous human disaster.

One way to help the victims may be to contribute to the tsunami
relief funds in India and other countries. One may abonden their plan
to spend on the new year celebrations and divert their planned funds
for the purpose to Tsunami Relief funds.

In case of any further assistance or information you may post your
querries on this group.

Bye to all

Many members asked this question - Is there any site (read Indian Goverrnment or NGO site) where they can Donate using credit-card? Has anybody came across any like PM Relief Fund etc.?

If not, it is a really a good idea to setup something like that.
