I am planning on applying for Canadian PR soon. I posted similar message in another section of this forum, but nobody responded. So, here I am hoping to get some help in this area.
I have 4 years of part-time work experience and 1 year of full-time (the same job as part-time, just 40 hours per week, no other benefits, after undergraduate degree in OPT). How many years of work experience can I write in my application for PR?
What about the score for my degree? I am going to have a Master of Public Policy in less than 6 months, but applying for a computer related profession. Will I be able to get 25 points out of my degree if the degree is not related to my intended profession?
Could anybody please help me with these questions about work experience and education?
Thanks.
You should be able to request the consular to consider 4 years of part-time experiene as 2 years of full-time experience. I would recommend you include an explanation (letter) stating why you think this is fair.
Absy.
You will get 25. Education and occupation no longer need to be related.

Thanks absy and Massood.
Massood,
What do you think about my work experience question? absy already answered that question in the post before yours, but I would like to hear from a lawyer who is practicing in this area (immigration). Thank you for being so nice to answer so many questions of so many people for free.
Thank you.
absy is correct
