Which car is better ?
Any suggetions........
both are good these days . It is an old psyche going on from 80's that japanese is better and will last longer. Most of the American cars these days have parts manufactured in canada, china and Japan

We will find a way or we will make one
Inside space for American Cars is much much better than Japanese Car. Fuel consumption is related to cyld. and power of engine.
More power more gas more $$$

Some more comments:
Japanese cars typically have better fuel economy, however, the initial cost of these cars is also typically higher. If you are looking to save money, you’ll have to figure out whether you can recoup the additional initial costs, by fuel economy savings.
American cars (especially when you move up to the mid-range) typically come in standard with convenience and safety features (ranging from power windows, door locks, to ABS and traction control), while these are typically options on a Japanese car that further add to your cost.
American cars are heavier. While that translates to lower fuel economy, these cars also end up feeling far more stable when it snows as well as in windy conditions during summer. They are also far safer, I heard of a recent collision where a puny Chevy Aveo did some serious damage to Honda Civic!
My personal experience with domestic car dealers is that customer service is better, however, this could vary from dealer to dealer.
I would like to add on fuel consumption from my days with diesel engines used in electric power production. You buy any good make the best fuel consumption is 3.6 unit / liter of diesel. And it is almost impossible to improve on that. As a manufacturer representative when I use to talk of fuel consumption of 3.8 to 3.9 units/ liter, I and my company was very well aware that it is all hyped up on paper values. BUT one customer calculated and issued certificate for 4.5 unit/liter which unfortunatly I and my company could never use it for sales with fear of that letter getting used by my compititor.
Fuel economy can be compared if both engines are equal in cyld. size, number and power output. If you compare it, try to look for engine BHP then cyld numbers and size.
Crenshaw is true that american car are heavier compared to japanese car that can make a marginal difference. Also loading on car is different and more of it depends on your driving habits too.

Japanese cars are more fuel efficient and cheaper 2 maintain in the long run thereby costing less and giving more value for money .
Japanese are known for their stringent quality control and designs.
When the Insurance is high one tends 2 look for an old reliable car which means less maintenance. Jap cars score on this as well.
due to popularity and high sales they also have alternative spares which make repairs cheaper.
Guess thats why the resale value of Jap cars is higher !
