I landed in my car on 30th march,2005 with my family and imported the car by paying $182 as RIV fee.Now that i want to take my car back to US without registering here since there's 45 days period within which iam suppose to register the vehicle in canada.will that be okay if i take back my car and bring it for good after july and try to register it..does the customs guys have any issues about it at the time of bringing the car back in july-aug into canada.

I am in the similar situation like yours. I would like to avoid registering my car now here till I have 45 days. Can I take car back to US within 45 days? Is it treated as re-export of car from US before its registered here.

Would appreciate if some one has reply for this.

Hello guyz,
Anybody has any Updates on importing a Car back to US.
i am in a similar situation, when i first imported my car to Canada from
US they charged me around 1500 US dollars, after staying only 1 week in Canada i drove back to US i did not registered my car in Canada.
Now, when i want to go back to Canada, will they charge me Tax again,
i still have US Plates on my car.
Please let me know.
