Hi Videsee,

When we are here - why should you worry. I don't think you are totally unfamiliar with Toronto.

Must see are CN Tower and Niagara falls, nothing else is MUST. I even feel that CN Tower is also not that much.

Desi areas - the most impressive place is Markham Road in Scarborough, almost everything you will see is Desi. There are 7 apartments nearby where almost 50 percent people are Desis (more prominent - Gujaratis). There is one building 555 - where 95 percent people are Gujarati with more than 70 percents are Patels!

Great India Bazar is located on Gerrald Street. They (The association of Gerrald) are saying that They are Largest Indian Bazaar in North America. You can enjoy pani puri, makai doda or ganne ka ras there on street. There is pan and other specialities available. You name any indian item and you will get it. It is made up of Grocery Stores, Dresses, Restaurants, Jwellarers, Aurvdedic doctors etc. Grerrald Street is in Downtown, so very conjusted, but it is MUST for any Desi.

Another Indian bazar is at Albion, which in North York. Mainly dominated by Punjabis, this is also great Bazar. The nearby Theater is running all Hindi Movie shows. Albion also has nearby strong Desi community.

Lawrence/Kipling is also Gujarati dominated Area. Mainly Gujarati Muslims.

Markham is very poplular Town for Desis. And also Brampton and Mississagua.

But I have not seen concentration of Desis like on the markham road. You can see many team playing cricket, doing all desi stuff, including throwing garbage from windows, making streets dirty etc.

Toronto has also got largest number of Temples in North America.

Rest of the things - will tell in in Person.

Thanks.

Rashmi.

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership

Ya U cud probably get to sit on one ride or if you're lucky may be 2 at the most. :D

Last year we went to the CN tower on a long weekend - the wait was 2 hrs to get to the top. This was early afternoon. But like I said a long weekend.
