Hi All CD's
I want to bring to light the latest compromise all desi are having these days..
As you know that Dishnetwork changed it's technology or something which made millions using the dishnetwork through other smar guys ..
I think its so sad that there are so many Asian in GTA and still the government has so many rules regarding the FTA or something like that which restrict great channels like STAR PLUS to be aired in Canada..
I know that Bell and Rogers have some Combo for these channels but only 3 channels are currently available..Sony,ZEE and B4U..well ther shud me more bundles like these with STAR PLUS..
I was in India last November and was amazed by the new channles which have come up..
there are so many other great channels like Channel [V],MTV,HBO,the list is endles with new ones like ZOOM,star one ....
Well i think that for Asian TV is a great entertainemnt apart from goinfg to WALMARTs,and Giant Malls on the weekend
I hope this is resolved on the GOVT provides more affordable and good channels..
any comments

Though I do not have Dish network, I would like to know what differently has happened this time.
All I know is that dish network is illegal and the broadcasters send a signal that scrambles all illegal cards every once in a while. Then you go to dealer who resets the card for some fee.
Is resetting the card not possible now, are they imposing fines, or what has happened this time?

hi Raj
well at the moment there is no solutions for this. This time Dishnetwork has changed its technology somehow so the cards we were using cannot be repaired by the software those guys used. the format has changed and these cards would not work even if they are repaired..
So now if there is a solution..all of us would have to get new cars and who knows maybe new receivers too...
but this id diff fom just cutting of illegal signals...i think they have shifted to digital technology...and are using something which prevents the user to hack it..
so the only solution right now is to get rogers or bell ..and it wud cost not less than 50 bucks..
hope this helps

I have heard that with Bell you can subscribe to the basic channels and then get an illegal card which allows you to view subscription channels. Is this true ? These cards also get zapped but they can be corrected. Any experience with this?

I have only 2 cents to contribute, not a cent more, not a cent less ;-)
The new technology is from a Swedish company, and the cards are called Niagara Vision or something like that. This technology was implemented in Europe about a year & half ago, and has not yet been broken into. There are people in Canada working day-n-nite trying to break the technology. This is their rozi-roti.
As far as Bell is concerned, yes you could get their Basic subscription & then use an illegal card for the PPV & other channels. But that is stopping soon or may already have stopped by now. Bell is switching over to the new cards too.
The only thing that works for now is the new receivers without cards. But those things are getting hit almost every few hours.
Just have to live with the Angrezi crap for now, or watch Mr Sahota & his family on the wkends.
