Hi All,
I am looking for a cheap option to get Basic Canadian Channels + Family Channel + ATN . I find rogers cable too expensive as it is around 90 dollars per month for VIP + ATN. Any other alternative to Rogers Cable.
All Advice ?suggestion are welcome.

we only have two choice Rogers and Bell - in terms of price - u will have to negotiate - u get good deal when u bundle.

the only advantage rogers has over bell is - rogers is cable and dose not required DISH installation -

in terms of service and price not much different...depends on your buying power.

I have recently switched from Rogers to Bell (bundle service - cable, internet, landline phone) and able to save 25% with almost similar package. You have to look for their promo ..sometimes Rogers could give you better deal if you negotiate after you get the Quote from Bell.

I used that trick with roger , i got quote from roger then talk to bell..they give me other quotes , call roger again...keep trying...

end up with amazing deal on cell phone.

350 Day time, week end everning free from 6:00 to 8:00
100 local longdistance
call display, forwarding, two way calling free
rogers to rogers free
Very imp: no system access fees

End up with 22.45 +tax= around 25.35$ total

Bottom line both of them suck. They both rip you off. Pay too much and get nothing. And there is no where else to go. Now they are starting up a CRTC fee which is to help TV Channels to survive. First of all the Basic channels are free to air for which we pay and now this fee. What a scam.

When I was in India I knew there was monopoly of services this was 10 years back. So we came to Canada which we thought is a Developed nation. What you see here is a complete monopoly of all the the services. The customer keeps paying high cost for these companies to become rich and rich and the CRTC keeps heling them.

What a shame on this Country.

Checked out the Bell Agent @ Asian Food Center Albion / Hwy 27 ...

Bell TV Digital Basic + any 2 Indian channels : 39/mo for 12 months & therafter 10/- extra / month .

Plus you get cash back of $100/- (50/- after 3 mos and 50/- after 6 mos )

Plus 5/- bundle discount if you have any other Bell Service ... But there s a contract for 2 yrs . Penalty of breaking in 1st yr is 200/- and after 1 yr is 100/- .

Hey Fido,

I too visited the same place on weekend. The deal they are offering has 2 year contract, which looks little long. They also give another option of Magic TV. The research I did on Magic TV, its not worth spending 325 dollars on it.
ANother option is Nfusion reciever + Dish Installation. It costs you 300 dollars but not reliable. It givess you around 14 desi chanels. And if it works for just 4 months, then you reach break even in terms of cost . A guy told me its not illegal in Canada, as we are getting channels from Internet (from Dishnet). And we are not violating Bell or Rogers. DIshnet service is not avaible in Canada, so it doesnt become illegal. Any comments are welcome.
