I had Rogers TV for abt 5 yrs and happy with them. Now I have moved, I called Bell for moving my line. I got sucked into the TV stuff. On the phone, the lady told me it was $27/month, never mentioned that was the basic and I had to pay $20 more for getting CNN etc (no movie channels which is fine with me). Bell installed the cable for TV and gave a instruction manual (can hardly read those fine print) and a remote. The guy never showed me how to use the darn remote.

This has become an aggravation. I have to press guide to select the channel since I cant remember those 3 digit channel numbers. Most of the channels are pay per view. I dont need them. Also there are channels that carry the same program, which is duplication.

I am really pissed off with Bell. When I called I was told that I have to be with them for 2 yrs which they never mentioned when I called the first time.

Any suggestions to get this monkey off my back?

Problem was you were in hurry. Whether it is Rogers or Bell or Cogeco, everyone has fine print.

When you go back to Rogers, you will face with more problems. Recently they increased my charges of cable by $ 15. When I asked, CSR had no clue. They will check and get back to me.

Companies sell product to make money, they have their way to lure customers and you got lured.

If you have entered in 24 months contract, there will be cancellation charges, please check fine prints again. It could be $200 approx.

In my condo building many people switched over to Bell on Cable and couple of whom I spoke to with are very happy.

Dont want to start another thread, but for phone service which is better Bell or Rogers?

Rogers recently introduced phone service and now and then they have called us to change to them.

Right now I just have cell phone so next month I am going to get a phone line.

Should I avoid Rogers and stick with a proven provided ...i.e. bell?

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

I have mix and matched my services.

1. Cable and Internet with Rogers
2. Cell (Recently switched because of their new phones.. cool stuff) and Home Phone with Bell.

May be switching the internet because Bell is giving 17\" LCD monitor for computer with 2 year contract ($High Speed though). Still thinking not sure should do that or not. Wants to hear more about the quality of Sympatico. Wants to make informed decision.

As regards High speed internet, I'm with 3web (www.3web.com), pay $25 a month and am happy. Fine print - I have to stay with them for long distance which is 2.95 + tax /month, else the internet rate goes up by $5.

For landline try Primus or Spint ie Rogers.

For cable - if you're in a house just install a satellite dish, and never pay any monthly fee. There's offcourse a one-time cost of around $450.

Yeah I probably was in a hurry. The fine print is not the contract, is the manual. I can barely read it to understand how the darn thing works. At the same time got sucked into hte high speed internet with Bell ($19.95/month).

I think I need to sit back and look at these things all over again.

As per the Consumer Protection Act/guidelines you can cancel a contract within 10 days without penalty.
