We live in canada(Toronto). My mother-in-law and father-in-law have got US green card interview on 27th of april(They live in INDIA now). They have been sponsered by my mother-in-law's brother.
MY father-in-law is a retired bank employee and he is 65 years old and my mother-in-law is 57.
If they get the greencard ,what they are planning is to land in US first and then come to canada to stay with us because US greencard holders are eligible to come to canada without a Visa.
Then for every 6 months they will go to US and come back here. That's what they are planning.
Is it possible to do like that?
Her brother sponsered them because we are here in canada so that once they get their visa they can come and stay with us. My Mother-in-law is very crazy about US.She studied MA(English) and she says she will come to US and find a teacher job for herself.
Now ,My question is ,is it possible for a US greencard holder to travel between US and canada so frequently?I will appreciate if you give me a quick response
thank you very much best wishes
As far as travelling between US and Canada so frequently is concerned , It should be fine . They should maintain a Primary residence in US and have jobs etc. in US and then can visit you in Canada anytime but they cannot live in Canada and visit US .
If the Immigration officer at US POE checks and sees that they have not maintained a residence in US and have no jobs etc. , He can cancel their Green cards and not let them enter ..
