Appreciate your services and informative details.I am working in USA and have got
my Canadian immigration (Form IMM 5292).

I will be going to Canada for the necessary formalities (submission of Application for PR
card ,SSN , Insurance etc). However, I need to return to USA to continue my work for few months.

My questions

(a)What documents are required to re-enter Canada? (I will not be able to collect the PR Card before leaving for USA)

(b)I have heard that new immigrants do not need to collect the PR Card in person and that their PR Card is posted at the address specified in the application form.Is this true?

Thanks in advance,
Ravi Kumar

You need your PR card to re-enter Cda.
PR card is posted to the address you provide upon landing.

Has anyone receieved it recently? How many days it took and at which airport did u land?

Is this card swiped (to ener information/dates) when you enter or leave Canada? If yes then (in above case)how can he re-enter if the card was not swiped while leaving.

PR card is a kind of multiple visa valid for five years, and a sort of Canadian Identity card.

If U leave Canada without PR card then U will have to pay CAD 50 and have to get one time useable papers from the canadian Embassy.

Hi! I read the following info at CIC site: The card’s optical stripe contains all the details from the cardholder’s Confirmation of Permanent Resident form or IMM 1000 Record of Landing document. This encrypted information is accessible only to authorized officials (such as immigration officers) as required to confirm the status of the cardholder.

I was wondering if the info stored on the card also records the details of date of all departures/arricvals etc. or is it just like a visa stamp? Incase it is just like visa then the PR card is posted to person who has left canada without his PR card and he can return using the PRcard instaed of getting another one time usable permission from consellate for 50$. Is it right?

A person can use the PR card to re-enter. The PR card can be mailed to the owner anywhre in the world by someone in Canada.

Do U mean to say that no further processing is required for PR card except that is done at airport at arrival???

Also, tell us clearly that when PR card is ready do they post the card itself to the address provided or they send the letter say that PR card is ready and collect it from CIC office???

I want to ask when PR card is rady do the individual has to be presnet in Canada to collect it or it can be collected by the friends etc???
