Prof.Om.P.Bahl a biology professor at the University of Buffalo passed away recently. His research led to the development of the first home pregnancy test.
Bahl conducted research in the 1970's that elucidated the structure of human chorionic gonadotripin(hCG) a hormone associated with pregnancy. At home tests used today detect hCG in urine. He was also awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.

vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
Great. Not many know him or his great work.
