Hi Friends
This is to all CD's who are thinking negatively about Canada.
KNOW SOME TRUE FACTS ABOUT CANADA and FEEL PROUD TO BE A CANADIAN.

Canada has more lakes and inland waters than any other country.
"On a PER-CAPITA BASIS, its resource endowments are the second richest in
the world after Australia."

Hi PMA
Are you sure that Canadians should be proud? A little study of Canadian history reveals that present ruling class took away all these resources (the resources of which you are feeling proud) from Native Indian (Aboriginals), killed so many innocents, destroyed their culture and religion and committed so many frauds and did cheating in signing and then breaking treaties. Their children were forced to join English school and destroyed their language. I can write much more but better leave it to CDs to read about all these on thier own. I do not feel proud about this legacy. Anyway if you feel that your future generation will benefit and feel secure and satisfied, it is up to you. Human beings are selfish (iincuding me) and feeling happy after looting and killing aboriginals is not weird but still I do not see any point in being proud about legacy.
If you are interested, please read the world history for lst 1,000 years and you would realize that White guys have committed untold atrocities and crimes against innocent people. This history does not give me any confidence that in future when resources get scarer, they would not drive away my future generation or persecute them. Think over this and then reply

mate .... have u lived in both countries...
i guess no... so u know what i mean
ask any one who has lived in both the countries for couple of years...
ok
Why make this a pissing contest, "Mate"?
"Mate", Australia, unlike Canada is not an industrialized power or a member of the G7/G8 (Group of world economic leaders), i.e. The United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, Japan, Italy, France, and now Russia as an associate member. "Mate", Australia has a low GDP, per capita - which is the only true economic performance indicator - Canada has the 2nd highest GDP per capita (after the United States) in the G7/G8 - despite the fact the US, Japan and Germany have the 3 strongest economies in the world. Canada and the US share the largest, wealthiest bilateral trade zone on Earth. And by Canada being the second "richest" - the article was referring to natural resources, PER Capital. Canada has more natural resource then Australia - however, per capita (which means per population) Canada has 32 million, Australia has about 19 million inhabitants - therefore, Australia just edged by Canada on that useless ranking because Australia has a far smaller population. Truth be known - the US has more natural resources then either damn country - but both scored higher because unlike Australia, which is roughly the population of New York City - the US has 300 million inhabitants, not 19-20 million. And how about that Australian piss poor excuse for a post secondary education system. Harvard University alone has an endowement larger then that of every university in Australia combined.
As for the Olympics - Australia did well in one Olympics - the Sydney Olympics and it's done piss poor in every other games. While Canada isn't the best in the Olympics - it's not the worst either, and unlike Australia - Canada does consistently well in both the summer and winter games - not to mention the X games - Olympics after Olympics. As for the UN quality of life Index - yes, Canada and Australia make the top 5 - however, 9 outa 10 objective people in the world would choose the US for opportunity and quality of life - and the US ranked 8th - the UN Index should be taken with a grain of salt unless you understand what each factor used to score each country means. Australia wouldn't even allow non-white immigration until the 70's..LOL Canada has the highest per capita immigration in the developed world and it has two official languages with cities like Toronto which are ranked the most multi-ethnic on Earth due to the fact over half the population was born in foreign countries. Spare me the Australia the wonderful speech - you couldn't pay me to visit Australia, let alone actually consider living there. I'll stick to living in the US, Canada and Europe.
If you all want to try countries that don't truly suck - try Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Luxembourg, Japan, etc.
Just remember that ethno-centricity and even blind nationalism are forms of social and cultural inferiority - regardless of the country you're from. It's a safe bet that many of my Aussie friends here in the US would probably agree with that.
