Now this brings up a question... During my stay in Canada..I made it a point to avoid doctors who were not from India or were not Canadian educated !... The case being as follows...
My friend had visited an optometrist...that 'doctor' prescribed a pair of glasses to her ...saying that "her power had increased"...As soon as she got the glasses, she started getting headaches... I asked her to visit a regular doctor in the University clinic...and whoa...her power had actually decreased !....
Now you take a guess where this 'doctor' was from...Hint..he was not from or educated in India !...and he was a desi also .....
Since then she made it a point to inform everyone she knew to stay away from 'this doctor'...
I suppose the reluctance of Canadian medical regulatory bodies to accredit Foreign credentials in justified !
Any such experiences from other C'Desis ?

Closer home, here in Toronto, we had another case of a desi doctor reported in the Toronto Star in May (the column was titled 'Dangerous Medicine').
When I looked up this guy on the Ontario College of Physician's website, I found that his primary degree was from the University of Calcutta (ie he was foreign qualified).
There's plent of material about this character on the net, the link above links to the decision on his disciplinary hearing.
Doesn’t necessarily mean that all desis doctors are like him, but certainly justifies any caution shown by medical authorities in admitting foreign trained doctors.
According to me the first gentleman, probably has extraordinary communication/social skills. It takes some talent( not to mention mindset) to be able to swindle people across the globe. These skills are a prerequisite to being a successful con-man/woman.
I guess he would have gone far if he could walk the walk as well.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
