Yesteray, while buying a sofa-set, I was literally coerced into buying a maintenance package, where they cover your sofaset with some chemical, which prevents it from damage and stains. They give a 5-year warantee for that.
Is this package really required or is just more of a marketing gimmick to cheat a gullible person? The way, the salesman and salesmanager forced me to buy that package, I found more of something that is not really required

How can you be coerced?
YOu are the customer, you can walk away...?
4 years ago I bought a sofa for about 900 and I bought an 80 dollar maint package for 3 years. I did this because I was expecting kids to be in my house and they could damage/spill things on it....it never happened.
It should never be compulsory....
How much did you pay?

The worth of $100 wil depend on:
a) the original cost of the sofa, and
b) what the maintenance package includes and how many years.
In my view, if the sofa is more than $1,000 and the maintenance is for 3 years or more, 100 bucks should be worth it.

Advice is free – lessons I charge for!!
The other option is to buy some of those protective fabric sprays (not sur e of the cost). then the cleaning can be done by you.
