My point is that even if they are “blanket”, they are still only his opinions. On may or may not agree with them. Second, those opinions were posted as an article. article.

They are still opinions true, but when you are a moderator for whatsoever reason the expectations of members are a little differentand you are required to behave in a little bit more dignified manner but then; so should all of us. You would not want your leader or your manager making blanket statements.

You will find plenty of examples on this forum where someone starts bashing canada and a ton of people gangup to start bashing those people.

yet another example the thread started by Puru and the bashing he got and then regrettably canadian joined in and he got bashed further. (I am not saying whether they were right or the people arguing against, are right.) Even BL was among the ones who was not very kind with his words and now that he actually complemented puru just wait and see the direction the thread moves to and my point will be proved.

My point is that even if they are “blanket”, they are still only his opinions. On may or may not agree with them. Second, those opinions were posted as an article. They were not posted as a discussion with anyone. Discussion may lead to a debate, where the participants is expected to justify their remarks. But this was not a discussion. Accordingly, PTM has no business asking Chandresh what he wrote in an article.

Actually that raises a point. If one is going to post an article, it should be as objective as possible. Thats why I never put in anything. I know I cant be objective. I could just tell it like it is, the truth as per me. But that would be misleading to others.

A post in the discussion section can over time sink out of sight. But the Article section is there always on the home page for all to read.

I was also confused between such ARTICLES and the articles posted in the ARTICLES Section (which are articles open for discussion). Now I know the difference.

Racism is something that ceases with time. It may not have completely vanished, but it is certainly not overt. Most cases where people use that as an excuse is not true.

True, but usually this time is counted over generation(s) and not a few years.

Did Chandresh's view re racism change? Is racism less or more now than 3 years ago?
Same question about the other points made in the article.

BTW, I was not aware of this article till PTM started this thread, I guess i missed that part of the home page.

I know people are under no obligation answer for anything, so please ignore if you dont want answer.

You are just enjoying yanking my chain around............The reason being I am not philosophical stuff......just not my stuff and I did not step up to the offer in the first place :D

how do you know you did not? How can you decide what is 'right' and 'wrong'(which is especially important when passing judgement like you did) without examining those concepts themselves?
Is there a definite line between an 'opinion' and 'philosophy'(unless the opinion is formed without any thought :))? Can an opinion exist in the absence of philosophy? Why did my 'opinion' become 'philosophy'?

here are some of the definitions of philosophy:
Love and pursuit of wisdom by intellectual means and moral self-discipline.
Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods.
A system of thought based on or involving such inquiry: the philosophy of Hume.
The critical analysis of fundamental assumptions or beliefs.
The disciplines presented in university curriculums of science and the liberal arts, except medicine, law, and theology.
The discipline comprising logic, ethics, aesthetics, metaphysics, and epistemology.
A set of ideas or beliefs relating to a particular field or activity; an underlying theory: an original philosophy of advertising.
A system of values by which one lives: has an unusual philosophy of life.

Is your chain getting yanked :D ?

Earlier also I had posted this query to Chandresh about what made him come back to Canada after going to India. Chandresh has every right to write about what he likes & hates about Canada.

I guess PTM also wanted to know the same thing.

This would help other immigrants.

Thanks & regards.

Rajan.

Hi friends,
Very first day i observed the site , I found an article written by chandresh. I was really impressed by the article . The article gives very negative impression about immigration to canada.Later i found certain posts in which chandresh sounding positive about immigration to canada.I got confused whether chandresh who has written the article is same person or some one else. Garvo Gujarati in his reply stated that chandresh is same person.
I understand with passage of time opinion and perceptions changes. There is nothing abnormal about that. Initially most of the immigrants struggles. Some who go back and some stays and eventually succeeds. With the passage of time bitter opinions turns sweet .That might have happend with chandresh.
In none of my posts i asked chandresh to eloborate the reasons for his change of opinion /perception. It is his personal matter and I have no right to ask him to explain.
I simply asked him to kindly modify the article in view of changed opinion /perception as many applicants at CHC ,New Delhi surf the site and might be influenced by that article ,moreover when the author of the article has now positive views about immigration to canada.
I was taken aback by the chandresh's reply , when he asserted that he still stood by every words of his article. I got more confused as how can a person have different views about immigration to canada at same time. Then i reproduced some of his posts to substantiate my point.
In one of his post he himself wonderd on change of perceptions of one CD member.
To reasons unknown ,chandresh failed to understand my point and went in bitter tone.
I might be wrong in asking for modification in the said article but my intentions were honest and I have nothing personal again chandresh.
Some of my senior friends accused me that i provoke chandresh consistently.
I again say i hold chandresh in high esteem .

now i reproduce my FIRST POST in this thread which clearly shows my intentions and my sincereness :

chandresh-- change of heart or different person

There is an article on CD home page under the heading
-my experience in canada.
in this article chandresh has narrated his experience in
canada. the article is very well compiled and showing
very negative picture of canada. Also in the article the
author is saying that he is leaving canada.
I have also read lot of posts of chandresh in which he
is sounding so much positive about every thing in
canada.this chandresh is a senior member of CD and is
GLOBAL MODERATOR.
i confused whether it is the same chandresh who wrote
the same article on CD home page or another person.
once Rajan Desai has also raised the same issue.
There is no problem if one change his opinion as
circumstances and perceptions changes regularly.
but my question is when one's opinion is so much changed
about canada then there is no logic of putting that
article on CD homepage.
i request CHANDRESH to put modify his original post
mentioning reasons for such huge change of opinion so
that other members may be enriched by his experience.
I have really read lot of posts of chandresh and he
really sound very experienced and seasoned professional.
I hope chandresh ji you will not take it otherwise and
clarify the matter.
regards,

ptm

Above stated first post shows how polite i am to chandresh.

Then i suggested that as the article is written by a well expereinced and matured person ,who incidentally is Gloabal Moderator of the site , it has a effect of something very matured and sound advice for the prospective and struggling immigrants.

Few days back I have alreay stated in my response to Blue lobster and Jake3d replies that I have nothing personal against chandresh and I think if every body thinks that there is no need of modification of that article . I accept , I might be wrong in my suggestion for altering the article.

PS: I am thankful to some of my friends at CD who understand and appreciated the point I raised.

Hi ptm

Nice to read your posts in CD. What happened to your PR status. Are you still trying for Canada on Humanatarian grounds.
OR Do you want to leave Canada PR status forever? What is your decision? I feel that you can still try for Canada on humanatarian grounds at CHC, New Delhi.

I Wish you good Luck.

PMA.
