We also just landed few days back.If u want to ask anything about landing, will be glad to answer.
1.Hope u hav taken ur jewelry evaluation with photograps.
2.U must be aware, still if u r not, for ur info:all electrical appliances in uae are of 220 voltage and in canada its 110 volts.So they will not work here unless u get convertors.
3.We bought new expensive mobiles from uae b4 coming to canada.Now we hav realized that here gsm mobiles are not very common.

?? Rogers and Fido are both GSM.
Either way, it doesn't make much sense to buy 'unlocked' phones before coming, unless one plans to travel to many countries and use the same phone with different SIM cards. You get better deals on phone when you sign up for 2-3 yr contracts.
Also, jewelry evaluation may not matter if you are carrying it with you. If in the 'goods to follow' list, yes, include photos.
