I am an new immigrant. I am from an IT PROFESSIONAL. I have heard that \"ALBERTA\" is good for getting jobs. Can anyone from Alberta can guide me the oppurtunities in Alberta for IT Profession. I am very dam serious and hence i seek help in terms of information.

I do not know about Alberta. I think there r some in Calgary & Edmonton.
My friend moved from Edm after waiting for job for 9 months in ERP.
Anyway, I think, most opportunities exist in Toronto and you should give it a serious thought. If you have experience - you will find something - atleast short term assignments.

Calgary & Edmonton are both in Alberta. Calgary & Edmonton are cities & Alberta is the province (state).

It is not necessary that you will get a job of your profession in Alberta. I am in Calgary for more than a year now. While I am lucky to get an entry-level job in my field of computer sales, haven't been able to get a job as per my experience.

Overall, opportunities are more in Alberta right now due to the oil & gas boom & because of that many companies need more people. But they are more in technical skills (now they could be for engineers, IT professionals, truck-drivers, carpenters, etc.).

You can try for these jobs from anywhere in Canada. Try thro' recruitment agencies or you could search for info on the websites. Apply for jobs thro' the company websites.
