Hi i want to know if i can go to US on B1 visa even if i am not landed to canada.
My landed imigration is in process,i have a job offer but the company wants to processs B1 visa initially and then h1b.

please advise

B1 to H1B is likely going to be more scrutinized esp. if the time period is not long enough. Not to mention. You will start on B1 presumably right now and then will convert to H1B next Oct. So for 10 months you are going to work full-time for some company in USA on B1?
Timeline will cause headaches when you go to H1B stamping..

You cannot get B1 Visa as a Landed Immigrant unless you have PR Card.
They do Check your PR card.

I don't think you need to have PR card.. but then you can't say you are PR .. so there goes advantage of easy decision.. you will be like any other 3rd country national. B1 is NIV so there's a good chance they will ask you to go to your home country..

Are you working or studying in Canada?

One of the basic requirements of a visitor visa is to prove sufficient ties to your home country or your country of residence. You will have to prove to the US visa officer and that you will come back to Canada after your trip to USA.
