I fully agree with Rajcanada. Even handles like ABC/xyx/despremi/quiqualis/mercuryX/rajcanada/JAM, do not have proper details. So are they genuine?

BTW is ICICI available here to give their version? Do they ever come out to help their loyal customers? I doubt that. But I am sure some ICICI staff or their fan is reading this post.

We all expect & hope ICICI will understand what customer service really means.:p

You have posted 4 posts on Canadiandesi, all only external links complaining about bad customer service of ICICI. You have not posted a single bad experience of yours!

I am not defending ICICI or anything.

There was a person who joined CD sometime before with multiple IDs whose only point in joining the site was to bash Rogers. His attitude was like "if you do not join me in complaining about Rogers, you must be employee or agent of Rogers. "

I have seen some problems with SBI. Last year i renewed my Fixed Deposit with them which was in india and this year i had to premature my FD and was told even from manager that i will get 1% less interest rate on my FD as i am maturing before 1 year period. I did mature the FD and to my surprise they didnt pay me any interest and when i asked them they told me that i will not get any interest as it was less than 1 year ( i had it for around 11 month ) and this were same stupid people who i asked earlier. I lost around 150 CAD due to it. So thats the way this Banks some time work.

In short every bank is there to make big bucks from you. Some have sweet talkers who gets you sucked in big debts as well as wrong product. Bottom line is you have to read the contract before you commit anything. He said and she says does nor work and is 100%people dependent. Like you call about a border line situation to immigration department and you get one answer and same question when asked 3 days later you get another perspective.

You have to cover yourself. You have to become smart to avoid less attractive offers. I have heard horrer stories about mobile bank mortgage agents manipulating credit files by giving multiple querries with similar names ( multiple until one generates a new file) to get a customer for mortgage. So go figure where do you stand?

I think a big reason why ICICI bank's customer service is not upto par is because of what their CSRs are being paid. No one wants to work for $7-$8/ hour. (If not LESS!) They really need to look into increasing payrate and giving attractive incentives to their first points of contact if they plan to gain bigger ground here...

I walked in to the Brampton branch on Aug 1st, 08. Completed all formalities and was told that the account would be opened in 5 days. I gave them a cheque for $1,200 which cleared my bank on Aug 5th. But the account never got opened. Called customer service - they said it would take another 3 days. Called after 3 days - they said that an investigation would be launched.

Customer service meanwhile replied to 2 of my emails complaints saying each time that the problem would be sorted out in 3 days. Called customer service today - once again they want me to wait for 3 more days.

I wish I had read similar posts - would never had bothered with such an insensitive and inefficient bank.

Talking about the customer services of Desi stores in Canada, I recently had a really bad experience in one of the desi optical store – Akal Optical near Islington & Albion road, Toronto.

When I initially called them to book an eye exam appointment they told me that the eye examination was free when I make glasses from them. After taking an appointment at specific time I was told to wait for around 50 minutes for my turn to come. After eye examination when I choosed my frame & type of glasses, they quoted me around $400 for my pair of glasses which are of very normal prescription & even when I choosed a basic frame.

What they were doing was covering up the eye examination cost by charging me more for glasses. I don’t expect them to give me a free eye examination but still there has to be a limit.

The most surprising thing came when I started negotiating about high price. I was really shocked b’coz I just complained about the price for the first time after choosing the frame & booommmmmm - I was told that it’s the way it is in their store & if I don’t like, I can leave the store. I stood there with a shock & before I can even realize what happened, the lady on the counter start packing the frames & keeping it back.

I am just writing this to aware people of such store where forget about HELLO but you cannot expect any respect for customer.
