ICICI on negative note
ICICI on negative note:

I can not say about the truth in this report, but ICICI certainly has the poorest of customer service in Canada. I can vouch for that because I have experienced the lowest level of "service" there.

Let me gve you a few instances.

1. Call the Brampton branch of ICICI. It always (repeat always) goes to the general voicemail. NO ONE ever returns your call. Besides, why would you like to leave voicemails during normal BUSINESS HOURS?

2. Many a time, I found that the tellers are on a " On the job" training. Which means - you go to the bank to do a transaction, and the teller is being trained "HOW TO" log in, make a debit entry, make a credit entry, how to fill in a form (No kidding).

3. There was one time I had to make a repeat wire transfer to my nephew. I called their call center (which is located in Bangalore). The CSR there told me that since all transactions are done thru their checking account, ICICI at Brampton would have the beneficiary's bank account no (this was an ICICI bank to ICICI bank transfer).

Now I drive 10 miles to be told that they "do not store such information on their systems". that "the manually written forms" were moved to their branch in Downtons Toronto. I called up my nephew and visited the bank again after 2 days to do the transfer.

Now for the latest. A year after I open my account, the teller says that "some application forms (to open bank accounts) were not filled in properly - and that their auditors had asked them to get it filled again.

Now - why did they have to wait for one full year to do that? have they heard of something called "CANADA POST" Or E MAIL".

So much for BANKING IN THE 21ST century and ICICI bank.

Mere Bharat Mahaan.

How about ICICI bank? I don't think so. They are just a bunch of shameless unprofessional jokers who have set up shop here.

What can you expect when people who worked in Grocery stores with no qulification and skills get selected based on their " Regional Privelege " which I thought happened only in India.. Same is the story with SBI canada and the Indian Consulate.. All the places where you see the ugly face of Regionalism !!!!!

This is true on many instances. They come to your doorstep (first page ad of any NRI website ), lure you with attractive promotion offers. Once they drag you in, they are not accessable for any follow-up services. They should improve their quality of service.

How about SBI- Canada? I think they are more honest when comparing with ICICI-Canada. Feedbacks from those who deal with SBI-Canada/SBI-Toronto will be appreciated.

I've been dealing with SBI-Toronto off n on for the past few years. Haven't had any probs. in terms of honesty other than the louzy service, and this is inspite of knowing some of the staff personally.

ICICI Bank sucks big time.....I would agree with a lot of points raised by quisqualis....I feel sad abt it as it is an Indian bank......I hope the senior mgt would do something to improve the cust svc.....

SBI....never had any acct with them....so wouldn't know their svcs....only used them sometime for trf money....wch was OK....but not great.....

Dear Friends,

Just want to know any one experienced with HSBC, If yes please do share your experience (positive / negetive .. no matter what). This will help people from UAE (migrating to Canada ) , who mostly opt for HSBC, as most have said they get good service in UAE and have other facility of fund transfer and opening a/c in canada from UAE itself. Would be great if you can share about the Canadian experience.

Regards,
Maple
