Hi,
I landed in Canada in early September and now have a half decent job. I want go to India and get married around Mar-Apr 2006.
I am not sure what kind of visa my spouse wil fall under.
I want to fly to Canada from India with her right after marriage and dont want her to wait in India even for a week.
In that case what kind of visas do i apply for and what is the process.

Thanks,
Chittesh

If u want her to accompany you, you should be prepared to wait in India. It may take as little as 8 weeks if there's no complication.

I would advise you to get religiously married in India if you want. But do not get legally married there.
Your fiancee(@ present) can apply for a visitor's visa one or two month before getting religiously married from India itself. And confirm her ticket, take a return one, then after getting reigiously married, your fiancee can accompany you to canada. But once you & your fiancee are in canada get legally married there. Immediately after your legal marriage drop a sponsorship application from within canada. She won't have to go back to India, and you guys won't b seperated during sponsorship application.

ONLY RECONFIRM WITH MASSOOD BUT I KNOW MANY DOING AS ABOVE.

Anytime,
Kayamba

By doing this you will increasing her immigration processing time by quite a few months just bear that in mind. She will not be allowed to work.
