As such one thing is clear that first generation people will face problem in settling down. No problem from my side. But the million dollar question is, will our children can have good career options without that tuff fight that we have to do in India.

After all we are successful after passing the gruelling competitions in India. But do not want my children to pass through same stages. They should be good in studies, but not that 2,00,000 good studied children fighting around for 300 MBBS seats.

In general quota I remember my sister reach up to 600 rank. But the MBBS/ dental seats ends by 300 some think. Rest goes to SC/SCT quotas etc stuff.
I did make up my mind after that no point in getting my kids gruelling through same situation. This is not life. But now after going though some of the interviews in notcanada.com. I suspect even the graduate children from Canada do not get jobs in their field.

I have general questions to Canadian desi residing in Canada. Do they see their children living comfortable life in next 10-20 years time?

It is a struggle everywhere. There is no place where there is a guarantee that life is smooth.

There are going to be limited seats & competition everywhere for admissions to courses. Not all kids after coming to Canada grow up & study well.

Let's make India a better place !

Hey Folks,
Sorry to bother into someone\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s well placed views,but I hear so many seniors and also so many people who are well settled in India coming here just for\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'future of their children\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'.Is there no future in India or other South East Asian countries?
Well,if you talk of education,upto school it is okay,but once you step into college and university education,doing a simple diploma like air-conditioning or video-designing can take away $20000-30,000 per year (with a burden of OSAP) or any post-school education would be couple of thousands of dollars,which one does not have to spend in India atleast!(Forget MBA!)
No wonder why people from US/UK/Canada send their kids to private medical/engineering colleges in India!
And the aftermath continues for job hunts,with naturaaly the locals given a preferance!
And the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'social diversity\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'(bad image)continues due to western culture influence/staying in a western country, which for boys may be okay,but for girls,it is like \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'avoidable\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' especially with reserved families!

You see I have seen many decent proposals being turned down by people,just because they are from US/Canada!
And the silent \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'discrimination\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' over \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'color\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' of the skin continues and you face it BOLDLY!(such that many times you feel humiliated to even talk to natives or fair skinned people(baas apne community me hi,hai,hai!)
And you see the amount of pressure it puts on the jobespecially for seniors, compared to one doing in India or else?
I really \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'wonder\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' what type of education and culture the parents intend to give to their kids,especially those from India or conservative nations!
Yes,I am sure there is an excellant future for kids here(at least I can \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'dream\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\')

Are you there?

Who is sending their kids from Canada to study medicine, engineering, etc in India? If these kids plan to come back and join the Canadian workforce, they'll have to do it all over again. Sad but true. Being in Canada, one would know this already. So who are these people!? They must be stopped...

As for Canada's future, well it's hard to tell. Considering that 10-20 years from now, the baby boomers are going to retire, the jobs will be free for hte taking for younger professionals. And these are generally the immigrant children. So the job situation might be okay but the pay? That income bracket has a chance of going down because of the competition this is going to create. So do they have a good future? Yes and no.

If we decide to make our kids study what will be reqd by Canadian economy than it would be good for their future.

Canada has huge reserves of Oil with them. So this sector looks great for our kids future. However alone this industry might not be enough for all baby boomers else there will more supply than demand.

So we need to identify emerging industry and make sure our kids studies there.

Than again the question comes are we earning enough to give our kids specialised education which might be very expensive?
