BTW, people who find time to purse their hobby in Canada can be considered lucky. I belong to the unlucky category.

I was a voracious reader during my school and college days. Now, I have a library next door, but no time to read. I wish I could take a transit to work so that I could read, but not possible

I also like to blog - mainly about my thoughts and Bollywood. But thoughts flow in my mind when I am driving, but when I hit the keyboard, my mind turns blank. All I do in my free time is play spider solitaire.

Although summers are good, as I take a chance to visit locations outside GTA. I enjoy driving and taking pictures. Hope that in coming years, I am able to explore more of Ontario as well as Canada.

Movies and music are my obsession - it is not a hobby anymore. I need to listen to atleast one song of Kishore or Lata or any Pancham composition before I enter my office. It is almost a basic need for me just like food, air and water.

I watch movies during weekend - college life was spent watching Bollywood movies - now it is mainly Hollywood. Kill Bill made me a Tarantino fan, Analyze This made me Robert De Niro fan. I mainly watch Robert De Niro, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Robin Williams and Al Pacino movies. I have lost interest in Bollywood movies, unless movies like RDB come by - which is a rarity.

And yeah - of course there is Simpsons - atleast two episodes every weekday and four episodes every weekend.

I like swimming and playing Table Tennis - but no time for that.

Meghal :)

You have listed many hobbies that you have in your life: Blogging, Travelling-daytripping, movies, music, Simpsons (which is in a category in itself).

If you have time for TWO episodes daily and four on the weekends..then you are also choosing to watch telly when you could be reading a book :) Or have a nice bubble bath and read.. or keep a book in ur car and read if your ever waiting for someone etc.

Thats how I do it :D

I was avery avid reader in my childhood. Then lost the habit of reading when I started working.

However, now I do have time and tried to read but found that it was not very satisfying. TV documentaries, real life stories on Tv are much more inetresting than reading. So i watch TV but mainly news and history, discovery channel, some comedy. I really have no patience for fictions.

I am very open to find someone to play badminton in Etobicoke area.

In India i could not afford the 400 rupees books and there are very few libraries to talk of. So in Canada i am catching up on reading all Indian authors as the libraries are excellent and free and the only time i get to read is on the toilet seat . Just finished Bapsi sidhwas 'Bride" and will start Pankaj Mishras "The Romantics".

Watching movies or Simpsons a hobby? Blogging (where u rant abt your feelings that no one cares) a hobby?
C'mon, people can do better than that.

Well, it all depends on individual choices.

And blogging is more about catharsis. You don't write to reach other people. It is just a way of expressing your frustration and feelings

One thing that I'll miss about Canada is relaxing in a bubble bath. Not a hobby, but definitely relaxing.

Regarding visiting temples, it is the least expensive (free) outing.:)

I like sports, watching & playing.

Do read the odd book. I like fiction & books written by successful people.

Canadian Desi for a hobby, anyone?;)

Rgds.
